Bio​

Internationally renowned molecular biologist, with a degree in Biological Sciences from the University La Sapienza in Rome, where he also earned a PhD in Molecular Biology. After conducting research at the University of Heidelberg, he returned to Italy as Junior Group Leader at the San Raffaele Institute in Milan. He was part of the Telethon Dulbecco Institute and the European Brain Research Center of the Santa Lucia Foundation and EBRI in Rome. Currently, Orlando is involved in research at the Santa Lucia Foundation in Rome and serves as Head of the Environmental Epigenetics Program at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. His research explores epigenetic mechanisms that influence gene expression, with the goal of developing new therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative and oncological diseases.
